Rosebrook Primary School believes that in order to facilitate teaching and learning, excellent attendance is essential. Pupils cannot achieve their full potential if they do not regularly attend school. We understand that barriers to attendance are complex, and that some pupils find it harder than others to attend school; therefore, we will continue to prioritise cultivating a safe and supportive environment at school, as well as strong and trusting relationships with pupils and parents. Leaders are aware of the issues affecting attendance and have a clear, strategic plan of action in place. All staff within the school community have a strong focus on attendance and punctuality so that all pupils benefit from the education and experiences the school offers. We have high attendance expectations for all pupils through a culture of no exceptions, no excuses. This is underpinned by an evidence-based policy, which is in line with DFE and Local Authority guidance, robust procedures, and shared responsibilities – attendance is everyone’s business. We believe that regular attendance and good punctuality are vital for a child to attain their full potential. At Rosebrook we are committed to actively pursuing both our whole school attendance targets and improvements in attendance for individual pupils.
